Holy Ultra

Provo to SLC. 55 miles.

On November 8, 2026, Utah's two rival schools will battle it out on the football field. But there's another battle that will be going on that day that will be way harder and that you can actually contribute to. Represent your school of choice and earn points as a solo runner, or relay team, to determine who the real winner is.

Participation terms & waiver (tap to read)

Holy Ultra is an unofficial, informal group run. It is not a sanctioned, permitted or insured race. There are no race officials, timing, closed roads, marked course, aid stations or medical support. Participants are choosing, on their own, to join a group effort to run from the Y in Provo to the U in Salt Lake City. "The organizers" means the people organizing Holy Ultra. By registering, I agree to the following.

1. I take part voluntarily. Running about 55 miles over mountain trails, roads and crossings involves serious risks, including falls, exhaustion, heat, cold, altitude, dehydration, wildlife, vehicle traffic, rough terrain, weather, illness, injury and death. I understand and accept these risks, including risks that come from other people.

2. I am responsible for myself. This run is self-crewed and the route is only a suggestion. I am responsible for my own navigation, food, water, gear, safety and medical needs, and for following all laws, trail rules and private property boundaries. I will not rely on the organizers for rescue, aid or supervision, and I will pay for any emergency or medical care I need. In an emergency I will call 911.

3. I release the organizers. To the fullest extent the law allows, I release the organizers, and anyone who helps them with Holy Ultra, from any claim for injury, illness, death or loss connected to Holy Ultra, and I agree not to sue them. This includes anything caused by other participants, by third parties, or by the organizers' ordinary negligence. The organizers are not liable for what happens to me or my belongings on the course.

4. Groups and relays. If I join or am registered into a relay or group, that is my own choice. A team lead who pays for others is not responsible for them, and no participant is responsible for another participant's safety.

5. I am fit to run. I am at least 18 years old and healthy enough for a 55-mile effort, and I have talked to a doctor if I have any concerns. I will not take part while impaired by alcohol or drugs.

6. Changes. The organizers may change, reschedule or cancel Holy Ultra for safety or other reasons.

7. Roster, photos and contact. My name and team will appear on the public roster on this site. Photos and video taken during Holy Ultra may be shared. My email will only be used to contact me about the run.

8. Fine print. Utah law governs this agreement. If any part of it cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Checking the box below is my electronic signature, and I have read and understood these terms.
